Our Technical Foundation

Tim Robinson
President
Tim Robinson is President of Clean Methane Systems LLC and has worked with public and private organizations to develop and implement biogas utilization projects since 2010. During his tenure with the company and its predecessor, Applied Filter Technology, he has overseen the design and installation of biogas conditioning systems for projects across the United States and internationally, including installations in Australia, South Africa, and throughout North and South America.
Kit Johson
Managing Member & CFO
Kit Johnson brings more than 30 years of strategic, financial, and operational leadership to Clean Methane Systems LLC. As Managing Member and CFO, he oversees business development, contract structuring, financial strategy, and project execution across CMS’s municipal and private-sector projects. His experience includes renewable natural gas development, gas aggregation systems, and the implementation of major biogas treatment installations at wastewater facilities.
Gopi Kafle
Director of Engineering
Dr. Gopi Kafle serves as Director of Engineering for Clean Methane Systems LLC and is the company’s lead process engineering expert. He specializes in biogas upgrading, anaerobic digestion, and wastewater-based gas recovery systems. With more than nine years at CMS and a Ph.D. in Biosystems Engineering, Dr. Kafle has led numerous U.S. and international projects from concept development through commissioning.
John (J.R.) Wellman
Director of Sales
John (J.R.) Wellman brings more than 25 years of experience in renewable energy and advanced power systems to his role as Director of Sales at Clean Methane Systems LLC. His background spans biogas electrification, wastewater treatment operations, and distributed energy technologies, including linear generators and fuel cells.A U.S. Navy Nuclear Power Program alumnus, J.R. has led the development of projects focused on wastewater treatment plant electrification and innovative energy applications, including modular data centers and transport hydrogen integration.
